Description
This is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to tick off your bucket list. Sailing past breathtaking glaciers in Antarctica, have your cameras at the ready as you’ll witness some of the region’s most unique wildlife, from Emperor penguins, adorable leopard seals and even the world’s largest animal the blue whale.
Begin this bucket-list adventure with a three-night stay in Buenos Aires. The Argentinian capital is a bustling city with various diverse neighbourhoods to discover. You’ll be staying downtown near the recently revamped dockside area of Puerto Madero, ideal for discovering the city-centre sights such as Plaza de Mayo with the impressive Casa Rosada as its centrepiece.
Following your stay in Buenos Aires you’ll embark on the Norwegian Star and begin your journey by sailing out of the Rio de la Plata to your first port of call, Montevideo before cruising south to Puerto Madryn. Sailing through the Strait of Magellan you’ll arrive in Punta Arenas and then Ushuaia. From here you’ll sail past Deception Island and Elephant Island. Wildlife lovers will be in paradise, have your binoculars at the ready and prepare to witness tens of thousands of chinstrap penguins waddling about whilst giant elephant seals lounge on magical glaciers. Heading back north you’ll stop off at Stanley in the Falkland Islands before arriving back in Buenos Aires.
