Description
About the hotel
Authentic charm and front-row views of Maderno bay – that’s the Milano.
Built back in 1904, the hotel is just how you’d picture the classic Italian getaway. Classical columns and frescoes dial up the style outside, while high-ceilings, marble floors and old oil paintings keep the theme going indoors. The bedrooms have a fresh, modern feel though – and lots come with a private balcony too.
Days here are all taking breakfast alfresco out on the terrace, soaking in the pool and lying back on a lounger in the peaceful gardens. Then when the sun starts to dip, don’t miss rounding things off in true Italian fashion – sipping an aperitif in the stylish bar* as you chat over your day’s highlights.
When it’s time to explore, step outside and walk for a couple of minutes along the promenade to cast off on a ferry from the harbour. Or keep things local with a spot of lakeside lounging at the nearby beach instead.
Please be aware that a tourist tax is payable locally. This will be approximately €2.50 per person, per night.
Please note that this hotel prefers taking cash payments over card, and will provide a 5% discount on all payments in cash (excluding tourist tax). There is a bank opposite the hotel where you can get cash out.
Just so you know, ground floor rooms are not available.
Please be advised that safety standards with regards to balconies differ in Italy and on occasions you may be allocated a room whereby the balcony is lower than we would expect in the UK. For your own safety and that of anyone in your party, please ensure you take care when on the balcony and do not lean on or over the railings. If you have children below the age of 12, please ensure they are supervised and not left unattended at any time.
A Sorriso Card is included with your stay here too – giving you discounts to wellness centres, horse riding, bike rentals and the Paper Museum.
